Dear Ms. Obata,
I am writing to express my interest in an internship position for summer 2009 should you be seeking such help. My father is Steven May of Gundaker Commercial, who put us in contact almost three years ago. Although you may not remember me, I certainly remember my visit to your office when as a high school senior I shadowed you and your employees for a day, getting a glimpse of the professional design environment. Since then, I have entered the B.F.A. in Visual Communications program at Truman State University in hopes of being a professional graphic designer of a caliber as high as those at Kiku Obata & Co.
I have been very successful at Truman and would be honored if you would take some time to peruse my portfolio. I have concentrated on my skills in illustration and print design, and am currently developing skills in html coding to design a website for a St. Louis non-profit organization. Last summer I worked as the Graphic Design Intern at Gundaker Commercial, producing property brochures for their listings, and marketing materials for broker events and their company sponsored charity fundraiser. I was also part of the team that revamped the company’s website. This experience not only helped me practice my software and design skills but allowed me to gain an understanding of what it means to work collaboratively in an office and develop relationships with clients.
I would appreciate the opportunity to make a contribution to your company and look forward to learning more about your work in the world of graphic design and its process, as well as your contributions to the fields of architecture, interior design, and environmental design, all of which greatly interest me as a budding professional. The final homepage design
I switched up the colors a bit because I was reminded too much of winnie the pooh with the yellow and blue next to each other.
